EGM Called, Update on Club Chair Nominations
Update on Club Chair Position
Dear Members,
On the 1st July we wrote to all members to confirm that Club Chair Ayrton Fielding was to stand down from the position owing to personal commitments. Nominations were opened for the role of chair until Friday 17th July.
Following that nominations process, we can confirm that there has been two nominations received by the club.
Nominated are:
- Nigel Corless
- Graham Holt
Nigel is currently a member of the Committee in his role as Grounds and Facilities Lead, is lead coach of our Women’s Team and is a regular member of our Over 40’s team.
Graham is a familiar face also, having previously held the Club President and Club Chair roles in the 1980s, 1990s and early 2000s.
To confirm the appointment of a new Club Chair, an EGM has been called. Details can be found later in this communication.
Update on Junior Cricket Lead
Since our update with relation to Ayrton’s position, the committee has also been informed by Chris Green-Buckley that he wishes to stand down as Junior Cricket Lead. Chris has done an excellent job in the role since being elected in 2024, and leaves the junior section in a promising and exciting position.
As a result, the upcoming EGM will also be used for the purpose of appointing a new Junior Cricket Lead. The committee is intending to nominate Stephen Scott for this position, alongside his existing role as 4th XI Team Captain, to further strengthen the link between our junior section and the senior teams.
Nominations for this position will be open to other candidates too and are still welcomed.
Nominations can be made via email to mottramcricket@gmail.com until Midday on Sunday 2nd August. Please identify who has seconded the nomination in the email.
Notice of EGM | Monday 10th August
An EGM has been called and set for Monday 10th August. Registration of attendance will open at 7pm, with the meeting starting at 7.30pm.
There will be two items of business on the agenda:
1. Appointment of a new Club Chair
2. Appointment of a new Junior Cricket Lead
No other items of business will be on the agenda.
Voting for both positions is open to all active, adult members. As per club rules, for the purposes of voting, adults are classified as anyone no longer eligible to play Under 18’s age group cricket.
For all voting and to stand for a role, no membership payments must be outstanding.
If only one candidate is nominated for a role, then confirmation of the new role-holder will be made via a public "show of hands" vote.
If more than one candidate is nominated for a role, then the role-holder will be elected via a secret ballot.
